On Halloween I'm doing a scary open house in my front yard and i need some REALLY scary ideas!!?

I already have my dad dressing up and doing the chanisaw massacre thing (with the blade taken off the chainsaw of course) and his gf dressing up as a crazy person from Bellvue mental institute that butchered and chopped up her docter and my little sister as a child mass murderer (cute but scary little girl holding an axe and then she's having one of her friends playing dead beside her) and hopefully i can get my bf to dress up as Freddie Krueger from Nightmare on Elm St. and stalk people thru the maze but i wanna do more. I was thinking of having one place to be full of spiders with this giant spider web in the middle of it and a giant spider hanging from a tree resting on it plus maybe another area with one of my little sister's friends pretend that she's a dead person that's hung with a skeleton thats been hung beside her and a few fake human heads hanging on her other side, and then when people walk by she lunges out at them trying to grab at them alwhile screaming at them. Would these be good ideas? plus im having fake blood along the walls that connect to my back yard and along the walls of my neighbor's house that connect to their yard (we share a front yard that goes to the back of our backyards so the front yard is in between mine and my neighbor's house and that's where the haunted house will be at). So please help with any other scary ideas!!! thanks :)

- use glow in the dark spider webs for your bushes and trees

- buy a small fog machine to aim towards your front door/porch (you can buy one at a Halloween store for $20)

-play spooky music. Make a mix or buy a cd.

- buy window/door covers with creepy images

- change your porch light to a red bulb

- decorate your yard with fake gravestones and arms & legs poking out from the ground

Remove the chain from a chainsaw to make it safe and use the chainsaw. At night people will more hear the sound and imagine the chain is there when all they can see is a motor and the blade on which the chain travels. The chain isn't needed in order to press the trigger and make it sound like you're about to cut through something... or someone. And for an even cooler effect get a steel gate (or make the gate from steel rebar), a car battery, 1/8" steel cut into the shape and size of a chainsaw blade, a bolt, and jumper cables. Weld the bolt to the blade so it'll be nearer the motor than the end of the blade so you're ready to start making it really seem the chain is still their. Replace the actual blade with this fake blade then attach one end of the jumper cables to the car battery. On the other end attach one of the leads to your fake blade and the other to the gate. Now touch the blade to the gate and watch the sparks fly. Doing this at night you want to keep the battery and the cable out of sight and hit the trigger before running the blade across the fence. But don't keep it in touch for too long as you're shorting out the battery, run it across quickly



Got the idea from the How To DVD "How To... Haunt Your House" put out by Fun World several years ago. Got some great stuff on there including a few blue prints. Blueprints for making an electric chair (not a real one of course, but it looks real and can scare folks), a coffin, a candy table (with your head under a domed lid, and a Guillotine. They also give you a procedure for making a bleeding skull and tips on lighting and sound.

What I did last year was get a fake body that I made myself ( installed blood line components ) and a fake spine made out of jelly material. I made the brain matter from jello and squashed meat and what I did was put a fake voice on the dummy and I got my knife out with a camera filming it with a mask over my face, when the trick-o-treaters came, I proceeded to slice off the dummys head slowly. The dummy was screaming ( fake voice that I recorded earlier ) and fake blood was spilling everywhere ( looking like I beheaded someone. The kids ran away, and approx. 2.5 hours later a cap came strolling by telling me there was a complaint about the kids being traumatized.... Nothing happened, he gave me a nasty look and left with nothing more than a grunt and couple of f*cks and sh*ts.
