How can I dress as a hipster robot or astronaut?

I am going to a "Hipsterbots in Space" party (anyone seen Supernews?). I need to dress as a robot, hipster, astronaut, or some combination of the three. Anyone have any suggestions?

A hipster robot is quite possibly the coolest costume idea I have ever heard.



Hm... I don't know much about hipsters being from the south and all my my friends are so deeply part of a different subculture that I often don't understand the rest of the world. (I still don't believe that D12 the band was not named in honor of a 12 sided die.)



I think what I would do is purchase metallic silver leggings such as these http://cgi.ebay.com/Punk-Space-Metallic-Low-waist-Long-Pants-Silver-K303-/390213390252?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5ada87cfac and pair it with a similarly tight silver top like this http://cgi.ebay.com/Shiny-silver-metallic-cyber-tank-top-shirt-rock-TP209-/380171316098?cmd=ViewItem&pt=US_CSA_WC_Shirts_Tops&hash=item5883f9eb82 I would then add chucks/vans/etc, an open plaid shirt, and a hat (possibly baseball type with a strange sports team that "you've never heard of"). Either get a set of old bunny ears from a TV, or make your own antenna and have them sprouting from the hat. If you want to get really creative you can make a picture of dials and such on the computer, print it, and tape it to your shirt. (You could also attach dials and such to the shirt if you have time, the idea would be to look very 1950s iconic robot ish.) Add sunglasses similar to http://cgi.ebay.com/Fashion-Designer-Sports-Sunglasses-Men-Women-Shades-New-/190411299555?cmd=ViewItem&pt=US_Sunglasses&hash=item2c5565dae3 the idea with these is to get something reminiscent of Lieutenant Commander Geordi La Forge.

Forever 21. Lots to choose from there. Or you can go to a thrift shop since stuff like that is becoming "hipster" now.. But my advice, don't try to be too hipster. Some of that stuff is cute, but so many people are trying to dress like that now a days and it irritates me a little bit.
